The Starter Cube is the perfect ant nest for a young/beginning or medium-sized ant colony. It's also great for Founding Queens of some larger species!
 
The nest contains a water dish which provides hydration, able to be filled with a pipette. Keep this somewhat full, and your ants have the moisture they need via evaporation! This may evaporate quicker in drier or warmer areas, but generally lasts at least 1-2 weeks before needing a refill. You can monitor the water level closely. It's recommended to always keep the water level slightly past halfway.
 
Each nest comes with the necessary materials to use it, including rubber stoppers, vinyl tubing, and a hydration pipette. Each nest has two entrance ports, which means you can keep one entrance blocked off for easy, convenient expansion later on, as the colony grows!
 
The floor of the nest is a pleasant absorbent plaster, good for both the health of the ants as well as viewing and convenience. 
 
This nest is convenient for young colonies especially with it's ample viewing! You can see your colony perfectly from just about every desired angle.
