Our supply of American ants can only be shipped to certain states due to USDA regulations in the US. Be sure to check each species' legal shipping range. Our ant colonies for sale are never brood-boosted, meaning all of our queen ants ready for sale/adoption are 100% fertile and ready to grow an ant colony. Our promise is that we will only send out healthy, quality ants! All options include a healthy queen!​

About our queens and colonies
Every queen we sell is confirmed fertilized before it's listed. That means she has completed a nuptial flight, mated, and can found a colony on her own. Not a worker or an unmated alate, which is what you're risking with an unlicensed seller or a marketplace listing. If you're purchasing a queen with workers, then those are the workers from eggs she has laid, not boosted from a different colony! This means she's fully able to continue growing the colony.
Availability is seasonal
Queens only become available after nuptial flights, which happen at specific times of year for each species. When a species sells out, there often isn't more until the following year's flights. We hold and raise stock of the most popular species to stretch availability as far into the year as possible, but seasonality is a biological limit, not a stocking decision.
Shipping range is set by federal permits
We're USDA-permitted, and those permits specify which species may ship to which states. Every product page lists its legal range. The restrictions exist to keep species from being established outside their native range, where they can displace native ants. If a species isn't available to your state, that's a regulatory limit — and any seller shipping it to you anyway is doing so illegally. At Stateside Ants, we'll only ship you legal, happy, and healthy colonies.
What arrival day looks like
Colonies ship Monday through Wednesday so nothing sits in a facility over a weekend. Each queen travels in a cotton-plugged test tube setup, packed to buffer temperature swings and shipping impacts. Live arrival is guaranteed. During extreme heat we hold shipments rather than gamble on a colony cooking in a delivery van — if that delays your order, we'll tell you!
